नमस्कार !

हे expression लिहिण्याचे कारण की, ७ ऑक्टोबरचा तो दिवस आजही डोळ्यांसमोर अगदी जसाच्या तसा उभा आहे. आत्तापर्यंतच्या आयुष्यातील अविस्मरणीय दिवसांपैकी एक दिवस. कारण, हा सोहळा होता आमच्या लाडक्या गोखले सरांचा. हा दिवस आणखी एका गोष्टीमुळे नेहमीच स्मरणात राहील, कारण ज्यांच्यावर, म्हणजे गोखले सरांवर हा सोहळा आधारित होता, त्यांना मात्र ह्याची तसूभरही कल्पना नव्हती! आश्चर्य वाटते आहे ना! या साऱ्या मागच्या खऱ्या सूत्रधार आहेत त्या म्हणजे गुरुमाय, आमच्या गोखले मॅडम.

मित्रांनो, हा कार्यक्रम जरी सहज पार पडल्यासारखा वाटत आहे, पण या कार्यक्रमाची तुलना मी हिमनगाशी करतो.

मॅडमच्या मनात २०११ सालीच सरांची Golden Jubilee साजरी करायची असे ठाम झाले होते आणि ह्याची कल्पनाही आपले admin श्रेणिक विकम ह्यांच्याकडे मांडली होती. शेवटी सरसेनापतीच तो, निधड्या छातीने नेहमीच जबाबदारी घेऊन लढायला तयार असलेला.

आता हा सोहळा पार पाडायचा म्हणजे यासाठी पैशांची व्यवस्था करावी लागणार होतीच, म्हणून २०११ सालापासून मॅडमने नकळतपणे सरांचे खिसे कापायला सुरुवात केली होती. जसे जमेल तसे काटकसरीतून रक्कम ठेवून मॅडम ती बाजूला काढत. सरांना कशाचा मागमूसही लागू न देता हे सारे करायचे होते. आता जरी हे वाचायला सोपे वाटत असले, तरी मॅडमनी एवढी वर्षे सरांपासून लपवून हे कसे तडीस नेले, हे त्यांचे स्टेजवरील भावुक शब्दच सांगत होते.

गंमतीची गोष्ट म्हणजे मॅडम हळू हळू शिलेदार उभे करून कार्य सिद्धीस नेण्याची तयारी करत होत्या. साऱ्यांच्या मनात सरांपर्यंत काहीच पोहचू नये असेच होते, पण मोदी सरकारच्या मनात मात्र काही वेगळेच होते! तेव्हा सरांना कळेल अशीच परिस्थिती आली होती. एकदा मॅडम ज्या drawer मध्ये पैसे ठेवतात तो सरांनी उघडला देखील होता! पण सरांच्या privacy देण्याच्या स्वभावामुळे त्यांनी त्या पिशवीत काय आहे असेदेखील पाहिले नाही आणि मग मॅडमनी स्वतःच्या आई-बाबांच्या मदतीने ते सर्व पैसे बँकेतून बदलून आणले. कसला गोंधळ उडाला असेल ना मॅडमचा!

मिठुलादेखील कल्पना होती पण secrets ठेवण्यात तिने देखील मॅडमच्या पावलांवर पाऊल ठेवले आहे. असे खटाटोप करून हा सुंदर असा सोहळा पार पडला. हा कार्यक्रम एवढा सुंदरपणे पार पडलाय ह्यावरून तुम्हाला समजले असेलच की behind the scene देखील बरीच मेहनत घेतली आहे.

सरांपासून सारे लपवून एवढे मोठे कार्य करायचे होते आणि मॅडमना देखील विश्वास होता की गुरूकुलातील विद्यार्थी आपणांस हे कार्य यशस्वीपणे पार पाडण्यात मदत करतील. त्यातीलच एक म्हणजे योगेश्वर सर. सरांच्या कोणत्याही कामासाठी सदैव तत्पर असणारे. त्यांनी संपूर्ण CPA(Core Programming Academy) ह्या कामासाठी, classes चे schedule adjust करून उपलब्ध करून दिले होते आणि practice साठी येणाऱ्या मंडळींसाठी बऱ्याचदा snacks पण सरांनी स्वतः आणून दिले आहेत. सरांच्या ह्या सोहळ्यात आपला काहीना काही वाटा असावा असे प्रत्येक आजी-माजी विद्यार्थ्याला वाटतेच, मग आपले इतर admin आणि कट्ट्यावरील मंडळी तरी कशी मागे राहतील? ते सुद्धा अगदी धडाडीने कामाला लागले होते. रंगीत तालीम वगैरे CPA वर जोरदार चालू होती. त्यावेळी घडलेले अनेक गमतीदार किस्से मी तुम्हाला पुढे सांगेनच. हॉल बुकिंग पासून जेवणाच्या मेनू पर्यंतचा बेत सुनियोजितपणे ठरला होता. आता राहता राहिला एक मोठा प्रश्न होता. सरांना सोहळ्यापर्यंत काहीही कळू न देता आणायचे कसे? आणि ही जबाबदारी मॅडमनी अथर्व पाठक वर सोपवली आणि अथर्वने अगदी शक्कल लढवत सरांना एका कार्यक्रमाचे प्रमुख वक्ते म्हणून काल्पनिक आमंत्रण दिले आणि विषयही असा निवडला जो सरांच्या आवडीचा होता – प्राचीन शिक्षणपद्धती आणि आत्ताची शिक्षणपद्धती. विषयच आवडीचा असल्यामुळे सरांना नाही म्हणता आलेच नाही आणि सर तयार झाले !!!

सारे काही व्यवस्थित चालू होते पण तरीही मॅडमच्या मनात धाकधूक चालूच होती. कार्यक्रम व्यवस्थित होईल ना? सरांना तिथे पोहोचेपर्यंत काही कळणार तर नाही ना? असे नानाविविध प्रश्न मनी येत होते आणि अखेर तो दिवस उजाडला! सर्व students च्या मनी मात्र एकच उत्साह होता, सारे अगदी खुश होते. आपापले काम अगदी व्यवस्थितपणे पार पाडत होते. त्यांच्या चेहऱ्यावरील भाव पाहून काही पंक्ती आठवल्या –

“आज सोनियाचा दिनु | बरसे अमृताचा घनू”

आपल्या सरांना surprise आहे, त्यांचे भाव काय असतील ह्याबाबत चर्चा रंगत होत्या आणि केसरीवाड्यात सरांचे आगमन झाले. काही विद्यार्थिनी हातात ओवाळणीचे ताट घेऊन उभ्या होत्या. सरांचे भाव मात्र निराळेच होते. शेवटी हाडाचे कलाकार ते, सारा प्रकार त्यांच्या क्षणात लक्षात आला होता, मात्र ते स्मितहास्य करत पाहात होते. मग अमोल मुस्तारे आणि सोनाली मुस्तारे ह्यांच्या हस्ते सरांचे पाद्यपूजन झाले. मग सरांचे औक्षण करण्यात आले. सर पायऱ्यांवरून हॉलकडे येत होते तेव्हा त्यांच्यावर फुलांचा वर्षाव होत होता. मला तुम्हाला आर्वजून एक गोष्ट सांगावीशी वाटत आहे, ती म्हणजे की असा फुलांचा वर्षाव करण्यासाठी केसरीवाड्याकडून परवानगी मिळत नव्हती, कारण फुलांवरून पाय घसरून अपघात होऊ शकतो. पण विद्यार्थ्यांनी ते लगोलग साफ करण्याचे ठरले. आणि ही जबाबदारी गुरूकुलातील विद्यार्थी प्रदीप वाघमारे आणि विकास काबंळे यांनी घेतली. ती त्यांनी चोखपणे पार पाडली. सगळेच आपापल्या कामात तत्पर असल्याचे यातून दिसून येते. सर एक एक पायरी चढत हॉलच्या दिशेने रवाना होत होते आणि हॉल मध्ये येताच स्वागतगीत गायले जाऊ लागले.

राधिका शुक्ल मॅडम आणि क्षितिजा टिळक ह्यांनी सूत्रसंचालनास सुरूवात केली आणि सोहळ्यास सुरूवात झाली. कोणत्याही कार्यक्रमाची सुरूवात ही गणेशवंदनेने केली जाते आणि अभिज्ञा आपटे हिने गणेशवंदना सादर केली. अतिशय सुंदरतेने आणि पवित्रतेने गणेशवंदना पार पडली. पुढे पुराणांतील एक संदर्भ देत कार्यक्रम सरांच्या तुलेपर्यंत येऊन ठेपला. सरांची तुला गुळाने आणि तांदळाने करण्यात आली. त्यानंतर कानडे गुरुजींनी आशिर्वचन मंत्र मंत्र म्हणत तुलेची पवित्रता आणखी वाढवली. तसेच सरांना दीर्घायुष्य आणि आरोग्य लाभण्यासाठी ऋग्वेदातील काही मंत्रांचे पठण केले आणि वातावरण अगदी प्रसन्न झाले.  तुलेतील गूळ आणि तांदूळ हडपसर येथील धर्मवीर संभाजी प्रतिष्ठानाच्या अनाथाश्रमाला दान करण्यात आले.

सरांची तुला पार पडल्यानंतर performances ना सुरूवात झाली. पहिला performance हा मधुरा कुलकर्णी हीचा होता. तिने अतिशय सुंदरतेने ‘तेजोमय नादब्रह्म परमेश्वर’ ह्यावर नृत्य सादर केले. गेल्या ११ वर्षांची मेहनतच जणू तिच्या नृत्यातून दिसत होती.

पुढचा performance सादर केला योगेश जाधव आणि कल्याणी पांडकर यांनी. सरांचा प्रत्येक विद्यार्थी सरांच्या life च्या त्या पाच नियमांना नेहमीच स्मरणात ठेवून काहीना काही करण्याचे प्रयत्न करत असतोच. योगेश आणि कल्याणी ह्यांनीदेखील त्यातीलच एक नियम आपल्या performance मधून आपल्यापर्यंत पोहोचवला –

“सरस्वतीची पूजा करा, लक्ष्मी आपोआपच तुमच्या मागे येईल”.

अतिशय सुंदर पद्धतीने योगेशने सतार वादन सादर केले आणि त्याच सुरांच्या नादावर कल्याणीने अतिशय सुंदर सरस्वतीचे चित्र रेखाटले. खूपच सुंदर कलाकारी पाहायला मिळाल्याचे समाधान आजही वाटत आहे.

योगेश आणि कल्याणी ह्यांच्या performance नंतर हास्याची लहर घेऊन हृषिकेश डोंबे आणि आशिष अय्यर मंचावर आले. त्यांनी Mr. Bean चा performance इतक्या सुंदरतेने आणि अचूकपणे सादर केला की एकच हास्यकल्लोळ उठला होता. त्यांचे हावभाव अगदी हुबेहूब होते की, त्यातील पात्रांची आठवण करून देत होते.

हृषिकेश आणि आशिषच्या हास्यमय performance नंतर बासरीवादानाची धून वाजू लागली आणि ती सादर केली संतोष राममूर्ती ह्याने. अगदी उत्तम सादरीकरण कसे असावे याचे सुंदर उदाहरण संतोषच्या performance मधून दिसून येत होते.

पुढील performance हा सिध्दी घोड हीचा होता. सिध्दीने शांतिमंत्रावर, जे चाणक्य ह्या serial चे title song ही होते, त्यावर performance सादर केला. सर शिक्षक म्हणून घडण्यास या serial ची खूप मदत झाली. सिद्धीचा dance तर अप्रतिम होताच पण तिच्या बाबतचा रंगीत तालीमी वेळीचा एक प्रसंग share करतो – सिद्धी ७ तारखेच्या event च्या रंगीत तालीमीसाठी ५ तारखेला CPA वर आली होती. तिने रंगीत तालीम सादर केली पण तिचा performance फारच weak वाटत होता. कदाचित भीतीमुळे. पण अथर्व पाठक ने तिला सांगितले की “तू घरी practice कर आणि उद्या जर तुला व्यवस्थित नाही सादर करता आले तर performance cut करण्यात येईल! मग directly तू ७ तारखेला प्रेक्षक म्हणून ये.” सिध्दीने practice करून ६ तारखेला खूपच छान performance दाखवला आणि तिने जेव्हा अथर्वला विचारले की, “मी performer म्हणून येऊ की प्रेक्षक म्हणून,” तेव्हा एकच हशा पिकला!

सिद्धीच्या सुंदर performance नंतर आपल्या मधुर सुरांची जादू करण्यासाठी क्षितिजा टिळक मंचावर आली. तिने सरांच्या आवडीच्या ‘प्यासा’ चित्रपटातील ‘जाने क्या तुने कहीं….’ हे गीत सादर केले आणि तिचा आवाज इतका अप्रतिम होता की प्रेक्षकवर्ग देखील once more म्हणण्यापासून स्वतःला रोखू शकला नाही!

क्षितिजाच्या performance नंतर stage वर आले 3 stars ते म्हणजे – गौरव भोकरे, प्रसाद पैठणकर आणि मयुरेश पंढरी. तिघे पण अप्रतिम कलाकार, हे त्यांच्या कलाकृतीमधून दिसत होतेच. गौरव अप्रतिम गायक आणि आवर्जून सांगायला आवडेल की, तो इतका feel करून गात होता की, नक्कीच तो कोणाचा तरी चेहरा समोर आणत होता!! त्याचे expressions इतके भारी होते की, गाताना देखील एक छोटेसे blush त्याच्या चेहऱ्यावर  दिसत होते. प्रसाद पैठणकर Cajon (केऑन) हे वाद्य अगदी सराईतपणे वाजवत होता. मयुरेश Synthesizer खूपच अप्रतिम वाजवतो. मयुरेशबाबत देखील एक behind the scene गोष्ट सांगायला आवडेल. रंगीत तालीम सुरु होती. २ ऑक्टोबर म्हणजे सुट्टीचा दिवस म्हणून अथर्व पाठक ने सर्वांना सांगितले की सगळ्यांना सुट्टी आहे, तर सर्वांनी practice साठी उपस्थित रहा. गंमत म्हणजे मयुरेश २ ऑक्टोबर ला ‘मी यायला तयार आहे’ असे म्हणाला पण २ तारखेला त्याचा साखरपुडा होता आणि तो हे विसरला होता! जेव्हा त्याने हे सांगितले तेव्हा सारे हसून खाली पडायचे बाकी होते!!

मित्रांनो, ‘जब प्यार किया तो डरना क्या’ हे शब्द जरी कानावर पडले तरी अनारकलीची आठवण येते व तिचे रूप डोळ्यांसमोर उभे राहते. अतिशय सुंदर हे गाणे आणि जिच्यावर हे गाणे चित्रित झाले ती मधुबालाही अतिशय सुंदर! मी कधीच विचार केला नव्हता की, हे गाणे भरतनाट्यम मधूनही सादर करता येईल! पण मनीषा पाटोळे हिने अतिशय अप्रतिम नृत्य सादर केले. तिची अदाकारी आणि नृत्याविष्कार तिच्यातील मधुबालेची झलक दाखवत होता.

मनीषाच्या अदाकारीनंतर UNIX मधील fork आणि exec चे example घेऊन मंचावर यज्ञेश कुलकर्णी आला. गोंधळ झाला का? म्हणजे आपल्याला सर UNIX मध्ये वडील आणि मुलगा (fork आणि exec) ह्यांचा एक संदर्भ देतात आणि त्या example मधील मुलाला guitar खाजवायची असते! गंमतीचा भाग सोडा, पण यज्ञेश खूप कमालीची guitar वाजवतो. तो त्याची गेल्या ६ वर्षांतील मेहनत अगदी सराईतपणे सादर करत होता. ते पाहताना अक्षरशः सरांचे एकच वाक्य आठवत होते – “तुमचे तुमच्या computer वर एवढे प्रेम असावे की तो आपल्याशी संवाद साधत आहे.” यज्ञेश तुझे आणि तुझ्या guitar मधील हेच नाते दिसून आले.

यज्ञेशचा मनमोहक performance झाला आणि माझी stage वर येण्याची वेळ आली. मला आधीच एक गंमतीदार किस्सा सांगायला आवडेल, तो म्हणजे मी event बाबत लिहीत होतो तेव्हा मला माझ्या performance बद्दल काय लिहावे खरंच सुचत नव्हते आणि मी हे मॅडमना बोलून दाखवले. तेव्हा मॅडम हसून म्हणाल्या “तुलाच हे शिवधनुष्य पेलायचे आहे” तेव्हा मला असे झाले होते की ‘शिवधनुष्य अंगावर पडू नये म्हणजे झाले!!!’ असो, गंमतीचा भाग सोडा, पण खरेच सरांवर मी जे काही लिहिले आहे, ते सरांबरोबर राहून आलेल्या अनुभवातून. सांगायचे झाले तर ते चार शब्द सरांचे वर्णन कधीच करू शकणार नाहीत कारण सर सागराप्रमाणे अथांग आहेत. माझ्या speech मधून मी सरांचेच dialogues (जे सर class मध्ये शिकवताना सांगतात) ते साऱ्यांसमोर मांडले अन् प्रत्येकाला त्यातील शब्द न् शब्द map होतोय असे वाटत होते.

माझ्या performance नंतर रसिकांना मंत्रमुग्ध करण्यासाठी stage वर एक जोडी आली – एक म्हणजे सुव्रत आपटे (तबला) आणि दुसरा म्हणजे अनुप कुलथे (Violin). अनुप कुलथे बाबत सांगायचे झाले तर हा पहिला performer जो class चा student नाही! तो सुव्रतला साथ देण्यासाठी इथपर्यंत आला होता. त्याच्याबद्दल आवर्जून सांगायची गोष्ट म्हणजे तो  ‘All India Radio National Competiton’ मधील Violin वादनातील Gold Medalist असूनही, इथपर्यंत काहीच मानधन न घेता आला, त्याबद्दल त्याचे फार कौतुक वाटते. सुव्रत!!! मित्रा काय वाजवतोस अरे तू! तुझ्या कलाकारीचे मी वर्णन करणे म्हणजे लहान तोंडी मोठा घास घेण्यासारखे आहे! तुला मिळालेले standing ovation हीच तुझ्या कामाची पोचपावती आहे. सुव्रत, तू त्या तिहाईला for loop सोबत map करत Knowledge Is Interrelated हे किती सहजतेने पटवून दिलेस. तुझा performance देखील तबला आणि तुझ्यातील अतूट नाते दर्शवत होता. मीच नव्हे तर सारा प्रेक्षक वर्ग तुझ्या या कलाकृतीचा चाहता झाला आहे.

सारे performances झाले आणि बोलायची वेळ होती ती म्हणजे आमच्या लाडक्या गोखले मॅडम ह्यांची! आनंद व्यक्त करताना तुमचा भरून आलेला ऊर मॅडम आम्ही कधीही विसरू शकत नाही. तुम्ही “खू…..प” थँक्यू असे म्हणालात, पण आम्ही तुमचे ऋणी असू की सरांसाठी काहीतरी करण्याची संधी उपलब्ध करून दिलीत आणि तुमच्या दोघांच्याही चेहऱ्यावर हाच आनंद नेहमी राहावा, यासाठी गुरूकुलातील प्रत्येक student सदैव तत्पर असेल. तुम्ही आमची माय आहात हे काही वेगळं सांगायला नको कारण सारी मुले नेहमी आपल्या आईकडे अगदी हक्काने गोष्टी share करतात. तसेच आम्हांलादेखील तुमच्यासोबत साऱ्या गोष्टी share करायच्या असतात. तुमचे ते वाक्य आजही कानात आणि मनात रुजून राहिले आहे, “माझी मुले ही सारी तुझीच मुले आहेत,” असे सर म्हणाले तेव्हा तुम्ही पुढे म्हणालात, “हो, एवढी सगळी मुले ही माझीच मुले आहेत आणि त्यांची मुले पण माझीच मुले आहेत. अन् त्यांचे मातृत्व मिरवायला मला खूप छान वाटते!” मनापासून धन्यवाद मॅडम, आम्हांला आपलेसे करून जीव लावता यासाठी!!! We All Love You Madam!

मॅडम, तुमचे बोलणे संपूच नये असेच वाटत होते. तुमच्या चेहऱ्यावरचे हास्य मनात साठवून ठेवण्यासारखे होते. मनापासून सांगावेसे वाटते मॅडम, तुम्ही इतक्या गोड हसता की, मनात थोडे जरी दुःख असेल तरी तुमचे हास्य त्याला अलगद विरघळून नेते! अशाच हसत राहा मॅडम आणि आम्हांवर सदैव असेच प्रेम करत राहा!!!

सत्कार:-

आयुष्याच्या प्रत्येक वाटेवर आपणांला मदतीचे अनेक हात भेटतात, तसेच सरांचेदेखील आहे. सरांचा हा रोमांचक प्रवास देखील अशाच मदतीच्या हातांमुळे आपल्याला अनुभवायला मिळत आहे. अशाच मदतीच्या हातांना परतफेड म्हणून नव्हे तर कृतज्ञतेची जाणीव म्हणून त्यांचा सत्कार करावा अशी कल्पना मॅडमना आली. म्हणूनच  या साऱ्यांना चांदीची वाटी भेट म्हणून देण्यात आली.

सर्वांत आधी कानडे गुरुजींचा सत्कार करण्यात आला. मित्रांनो, आपण सरांच्या स्टोरीमध्ये ज्या कानडे वाड्याबाबत ऐकतो, ती पवित्र वास्तू ही कानडे गुरुजींचीच.  १-२ नव्हे, तर तब्बल १९ वर्षे हा class कानडे वाड्यामध्ये सुरू होता. त्यांचे आजोबा आणि त्यांच्या सहकार्यामुळे सरांचा class अगदी गुरूकुलासारखा नावारूपास आला.

दुसरी व्यक्ती म्हणजे सागर राठोड. हो, अगदी बरोबर map करताय तुम्ही! सागर राठोड म्हणजे तीच व्यक्ती ज्यांनी सरांना आयुष्यातील पहिली CD आणून दिली! ती Windows-98 ची CD आजही चालते, असे सर आपणांस खूप कौतुकाने सांगतात. मित्रांनो, आपण class च्या UNIX आणि Win32 SDK च्या ज्या नोट्स वापरतो, त्यांचे documentation सागर राठोडनेच केले आहे. त्याचा सत्कार होत होता तेव्हा त्याचे डोळे खूपच भरून आलेले दिसले. येणारच, क्षणच तसा होता! सरांनी देखील ज्या प्रेमाने त्याला आलिंगन दिले, तेव्हा त्याला नक्कीच कृतकृत्य झाल्यासारखे वाटत आहे, असे त्याचे भावच सांगत होते.

कानडे वाड्याचे reconstruction चालू झाले, मग क्लाससाठी नवीन जागा शोधावी लागणार होती. जागा कुठेही मिळाली असती पण ह्या जागेचे पावित्र्य, ही शांतता मिळणे कठीण, असेच सरांना वाटत होते. तेव्हा आपल्या क्लाससेचा एक विद्यार्थी श्रेयस दामले ह्याने सरांना आनंदाश्रमाबद्दल सांगितले आणि आनंदाश्रमाचे मालक आपटे सर ह्यांनी क्षणांत परवानगी दिली. आता आपले क्लासेस हे आनंदाश्रमात त्याच गुरूकुल पद्धतीने अन् पावित्र्यात पार पडत आहेत. त्यांच्या मोठ्या सहकार्यामुळे त्यांचा सत्कार करण्यात आला. त्यांच्या वतीने सौ. आपटे यांनी सत्कार स्वीकारला.

पुढील सत्काराचे मानकरी होते मनीष गोयल सर. हो, हेच गोयल सर ज्यांनी गोखले सरांनी अगदी सुरूवातीपासून लागेल ती पुस्तके available करून दिली. त्याच पुस्तकांतून सर आपल्यावर ज्ञानरूपी संस्कार करत आहेत. त्यामुळे गोयल सर तुमचे खूप – खूप आभार!

ह्यानंतर अशा व्यक्तीचा सत्कार होणार होता, ज्यांना खऱ्या हिऱ्याची पारख होती. सरांनी मिळवलेले ज्ञान आणि त्यांची IT क्षेत्रात असलेली किंमत ह्याची माहिती सगळ्यांत आधी सरांना करून दिली, त्या नलेश पाटणकर यांचा सत्कार त्यांच्या पत्नीने स्वीकारला.

गोखले सरांच्या ज्ञानाची आणि शिकवण्याची चर्चा तर पुण्यात होत होतीच आणि हीच ओळख भारतभर नेण्याचे काम Sunbeam या Institute ने केले. त्यातीलच एक, म्हणजे, Sunbeam चे CEO नितीन कुदळे सर ह्यांचा देखील सत्कार करण्यात आला.

ह्यापुढील सत्कार होता वनराज विकम सरांचा. वनराज सर म्हणजे सरांना Laptop, Desktop पुरविणारे, तसेच सरांच्या घरातील Computer आणि Laptop यांचे Servicing चे कामही करणारे. वनराज सर देखील सरांचे UNIX चे student आहेत. त्यांच्याबद्दल एक गोष्ट सांगायला आवडेल ती म्हणजे, की जेव्हापासून ते सरांचे Computer, Laptop वगैरेचे Servicing करतात, तेव्हा त्यातून जे काही charges मिळतात, ते पैसे ते खर्च करत नाहीत, तर एका पेटीत ठेवतात आणि धनत्रयोदशीला सरांनी आत्तापर्यंत दिलेल्या धनाची पूजा करतात. केवढे प्रेम आणि आदर जाणवतो त्यांच्या या कृतीतून!

शेवटचा सत्कार त्याचा होता, जो खरोखरच क्लासचा सरसेनापती आहे म्हणजेच, श्रेणिक विकम! होय मित्रांनो, तो हाच, जो प्रत्येक admission च्या वेळी गंभीर चेहऱ्याने तुम्हांला instructions देत असतो. अतिशय शिस्तप्रिय असे व्यक्तिमत्त्व. त्याचे नाव घेताच हॉलमध्ये एकच जल्लोष झाला. तो स्वभावाने कडक असला तरी खूप मनमिळाऊ देखील आहे. आपल्याकडे आलेले प्रत्येक काम हे अगदी सुनियोजितपणे आणि नेटकेपणाने करण्यात त्याचा हातखंडा आहे.

ठळक वैशिष्ट्ये:

सारे सत्कार संपले, पण काही क्षण असे होते जे आवर्जून तुम्हांला सांगावेसे वाटत आहेत.

पियूष खैरनार सर म्हणजे सरांचे एक विद्यार्थी. त्यांच्या मिसेसने म्हणजे माधवी मॅडमनी सरांना त्यांचेच चारकोल पेंटींग गिफ्ट केले. ते पेंटींग इतके हुबेहुब आहे, की पाहताच थक्क व्हायला होते!

सांगायाचा आणखी एक प्रसंग म्हणजे सरांवर वाढदिवसाच्या शुभेच्छांचा वर्षाव तर होत होताच, भारतातीलच नव्हे, तर आता परदेशातही वास्तव्यास असणाऱ्या विद्यार्थ्यांनी आपले रेकॉर्डिंग पाठवून शुभेच्छा पाठविल्या होत्या. खूपच प्रेम आणि आदर जाणवून येतो या साऱ्यांतून!

ज्यांनी सरांसाठी एवढे surprise ठेवले होते, त्या गोखले मॅडमना पण काहीतरी surprise देण्याचे विद्यार्थ्यांनी ठरविले होते आणि आनंदाश्रमातील सर आणि मॅडम ह्यांच्या एका फोटोची फ्रेम करून मॅडमना गिफ्ट करण्यात आली. हा तोच फोटो होता जो 30 सप्टेंबरच्या event ला काढण्यात आला होता आणि तो मॅडमना प्रचंड आवडला होता. या साऱ्या कार्यक्रमानंतर महत्वाचा कार्यक्रम सुरू झाला तो म्हणजे सरांची मुलाखत. दिवसभर काहीच बोलायला न मिळालेले सर, आता नेमके काय बोलणार याची उत्कंठता दाटून आली होती. तेवढ्यात ‘Director’s Chair’ Stage वर आली! सरांचे प्रत्येक वाक्य students कसे लक्षात ठेवतात हे ह्याचेच उदाहरण. मित्रांनो, 30 सप्टेंबरला एक Technical Event झाला होता. OpenGL च्या students नी आपले projects सादर केले होते, तेव्हा सर समोर खुर्चीवर बसून ते पाहत होते. तेव्हा त्यांच्या तोंडून एक वाक्य बाहेर पडले होते की, “खूप वर्षांनी मी असा ‘Director’s Chair’ मध्ये बसलोय!” म्हणून मुलांनी कानडेवाड्यातील ती खुर्ची ज्याच्यावर गेली 25 वर्षे बसून सरांनी ज्ञानदान केले, ती खुर्ची आणली आणि त्यावर ‘DirectoR’ असे लिहिले. यातील D आणि R मुद्दाम मोठे काढले जेणेकरून ते DR पण होईल!

सर खुर्चीत विराजमान झाले आणि most awaited अशी सरांची मुलाखत चालू झाली. सरांची मुलाखत घ्यायची म्हणजे एखादा मुरलेला व्यक्तीच असायला हवा आणि त्यासाठी योग्य व्यक्ती म्हणजे चैतन्य बापट! त्याच्यासारखा खंदा व्यक्तीच, जो सूत्रसंचालनात माहीर आहे, तोच सरांची मुलाखत व्यवस्थित घेऊ शकतो. कारण सर म्हणजे मुरलेले कलाकार आणि त्यांनी सूत्रसंचालकाला प्रतिप्रश्न केला तर अवघडच होऊन बसायचे! चैतन्यदेखील कोकणस्थ असल्यामुळे तोपण अगदी तयार!! सरांची मुलाखत सुरू झाली. सरांनी साऱ्या प्रश्नांची अगदी सुंदरपणे उत्तरे दिली ज्यातून साऱ्यांनाच बोध घेण्यासारखे होते. त्यात उपदेश होते, प्रेम होते आणि विद्यार्थ्यांवरचा विश्वास होता. खूपच अविस्मरणीय असे होते सारे! तो दिवस संपूच नये असे वाटत होते!

मॅडम, आम्हांला सरांसाठीच्या या सोहळ्यात सहभागी होण्याची संधी उपलब्ध करून दिलीत, त्याबद्दल तुमचे मनापासून धन्यवाद! आणि हा सोहळा अतिशय सुंदरतेने व यशस्वीरित्या पार पाडल्याबद्दल सर्व विद्यार्थी मित्रांचे अभिनंदन!

Astromedicomp’s Annual Project Presentation Event (AAPPE).

Sir’s View Regarding The Class Event at Sunbeam

Sir has wished for long that his students must have a good hands-on with programming. He has always tried to inspire his students by showing his own projects in varied fields of programming. Sometimes it seems to be overwhelming, but still very few are there who follow sir’s foot steps.

Initially it was being considered by sir and few of the senior students, that a programming competition should be held to promote sir’s motive, but sir was afraid that this might turn unhealthy after a while.

So ultimately sir came up with this idea of providing a neutral dais to the students who code hard with passion, extend their capabilities and utilize the knowledge they get from sir in developing new utilities. In other words, sir wanted them to implement his theme-line “Knowledge Is Interrelated” !

As a trial implementation of this idea, the first demonstration event was held at Sunbeam, on 26th of April 2015. About 70 new and old students were present.

Sir wants to start this as an annual event or half-yearly event as per the response, and he has appealed all his students (present/past) to participate and showcase their achievements primarily in programming.

Simply speaking:
DO THE CODE . DON’T WORRY , WHO WILL SEE IT ? WE ARE THERE.
WHOLE CLASS WILL SEE IT, APPRECIATE IT AND QUESTION IT TOO.

Astromedicomp’s 3^rd Annual Projects Presentation event was held at Sunbeam on 9^th of July 2017. About 130 students from current and previous batches were present. Following 4 Presentations were scheduled:

1] Gaurang Mahashabde:

Title: UNIX, Generic and ext2 File System Implementation

Gaurang started development of this project parallel to the UNIX 2015 batch when Chapter-3 of Bach, ‘The Design of UNIX Operating System by Maurice J. Bach’ is taught by Dr.Gokhale Sir. He explained how he started the project, primary motivation behind the idea, explained the journey, showed output of each step, and shared his experience throughout the development. He did the entire project on his own (individually) under the guidance of Dr.Gokhale Sir.

Synopsis:

This project was developed using NO external dependencies or third party libraries. The project was simply developed using the Text Editor and the Terminal on Linux without the use of IDE and VCS like GIT.

2] Harshali Ambekar:

Title: AutoTest – Web application GUI Testing Tool

Harshali started development of this project in late 2016 under the guidance of Mr.Vaibhav Joshi and Dr. Gokhale Sir. She started this project in order to automate the Web App GUI Testing Process.

Synopsis:

Automation scripts using Java and Selenium were used to carry out testing of Web application based GUIs across multiple browsers like Chrome, IE, Firefox, Opera, etc. The application was developed using various tools and design patterns like Abstract factory and Command Design Pattern using Maven.

3] Chetan Gandhi:

Title: Triangle in Vulkan

Chetan started learning about Vulkan as soon as it was announced by Khronos. He wanted to learn the technology to continue his interest in graphics and animation since childhood. He learnt the technology with the help of Online Tutorials as well as online documentations. He took guidance from Dr.Gokhale sir whenever required, but learnt the technology all on his own.

Synopsis:

He created an application to Display a Triangle with different colours to each vertex. He also used the colour interpolation (blending) for the same. No IDE was used for development. Sublime Text Editor and command line for build was used.

4] Shrenik Vikam:

Title: Student Details Android Application

Shrenik started the development of this app from first week of March keeping in mind the deadline as 28^th of March. He wanted to commence Online Attendance monitoring system from this year’s Real time Rendering Course Batch starting from April 1 2017 using QR code Scan, and a repository of all the students of all the batches.

Synopsis:

An Android application, which scans QR code on I-cards and updates the attendance entry on the server, was created. The Application uses Cell Phone Camera to scan QR Codes. QR codes have UUIDs associated with Student Information stored in them, which when scanned using the app update the record in the database. Multiple attendances on same day are supported, future enhancements in order.

Class’ 2nd Annual projects presentation event held at Sunbeam on 1st May 2016. Around 100 students from current and past batches were present.
Following 5 people/project group presented their projects.

1] Jeevan Gaikwad:
Title: Windows User management
Jeevan developed this project while attending SDK 2015 batch. Gokhale sir guided him for this project. He explained how he started the project,primary motivation behind the idea, explained the journey,showed output of each step, shared his experience.

Synopsis:
This project is developed using Win32, COM’s ‘Exe server’ and ‘Automation’. Application allows user to add Windows user accounts in desired usergroups present on the system. It has two clients.One is Class Factory client written in C++ and another is C# client. Jeevan has also developed its installer to install this application.

Concepts/technologies used:

• Win32 SDK: GUI for the application
• Windows security Net APIs : Allowed to create,list users,groups
• Exe Server: Client and server resides in two different executable files
• Automation: Language interoperability between C++ and C#

2] Sharif Malik:
Title: Intranet client tracking
Sharif developed this project when he was in 3rd year of his graduation. His project has won many prizes and awards in various college project competitions.

Synopsis:
This application is to monitor and control PCs connected in LAN. Following features allow administrator to remotely control desired PC.

• Take screenshot : Capture and save in the local directory.
• View process list
• Kill desired process from the list
• Restart the machine
• Shut-down the machine

• Java 1.5: Java swing, socket programming
• Windows commands using Java runtime

3] Sarang Patrange and Sharif Malik:
Title: Smart Home Automation
This project is developed during UNIX 2015 batch. Sarang handled hardware part and Sharif developed the required software. They explained how they collaborated and developed this project in short time.Explained choice of hardware and software.

Synopsis:
This project allows user to control,automate and schedule home lighting from local machine,remote(internet) and using natural language commands.

Concepts/technologies used:

• Raspeberry Pi 3 Board ( All necessary components)
• Relay Module: For controlling the 230V appliances
• Jumper Wires: To connect components to board and relay
• Browser(desktop/mobile) :To control the system remotely

4] Sumedh More:
Title: Exam preparation test suit Android application
Developed for: Nirali Publication
Sumedh developed this project in June 2015 in span for 3 months. Shrenik was guide for this project.He explained the project architecture,technical challenges, design patterns used and good third party libraries.

Synopsis:
This project makes all the study material available to students and save their time on research and organising the material, Nirali Prakashan wanted to create an Android Application. The application contains course -> Subject wise organised and always up to date material. Students can practice non-stop with huge collection of test exams provided by the application.

This application features include:

• Student can take exam(s) from the list
• View his progress, score card, history.
• On server side, administrator can
  • View results, their analysis
  • Put question bank in the server
  • Add new exam

5] Yogesh Chavan:
Title: Inside “Programming the BeagleBone”
Yogesh has written the book “Programming the BeagleBone” for international publication Packt Publishing Limited. It took around 1.5 years to study, experiment and verify to bring the utmost quality in writing. He explained his writing,learning journey.He showed some of the utilities of BeagleBone board as explored in his book.

He explained:
1) How to choose appropriate board based on your requirements
2) What factors affect to program, extend your application in future
3) How can we quickly get started with the board using small Python code snippets

He demonstrated:
1) Cloud9 web browser based IDE for programming
2) Ran parallel programs of Python and Java script
3) Dancing LED bulbs, Analog sensors like light intensity, temperature measurement
4) Remotely reading and controlling the sensors data using Web browser

 ASTROMEDICOMP : ‘COMP‘ Opens The Door To ‘MEDI‘

Eight years have passed since Dr. Vijay Gokhale Sir quit teaching medicine, but, he took a decision to step, temporarily, out of his current realm of “Coding And Teaching” to deliver two consecutive lectures on Diabetes Mellitus, and a Healthy Lifestyle for his IT students and their relatives, at Anandashram, on the 1st and 15th of August, respectively.

This rare event was graced by the presence of young and old people alike. Students of ‘Gurukul’ or not, people from all possible age groups were welcome and they did oblige. ‘Curiosity’ was the only condition. Thus, the event received a warm and successful response on both days.

Sir would not have spared his valuable time, dedicated to computers, merely to discuss diabetes if it was not a matter of utmost and urgent importance.

Yes, spreading awareness of Diabetes is the need of time and society. It is rightly said, “Prevention Is Better Than Cure”, and so, Sir, who is a victim of diabetes himself, conducted these lectures to prevent his students and their families from falling into the clutches of this slow-killing, grave disorder.

In the two consecutive lectures, Sir discussed the origins and causes of diabetes in human body and the ways of controlling and if not a victim yet, preventing it. True to his usual style, Sir started teaching diabetes ‘from the scratch’. Overall, in the two lectures, each of which was of 2 hours, Sir discussed the following to the finest detail :

1. What is Diabetes?
2. How a given food substance is broken down into the three fundamental units, namely – Proteins, Carbohydrates and Lipids – and how each of these affect our bodies and eventually contribute to diabetes.
3. The hollowness of the common belief : “Only those people who consume excess of sweets are highly susceptible to diabetes.”
4. The unavoidable and avoidable reasons for the occurrence of diabetes in an individual.
5. Detecting the symptoms of diabetes and taking immediate action to prevent further harm.
6. Diabetes is a disorder and not a disease. Hence, it is NOT yet completely CURABLE, but it is certainly CONTROLLABLE. So theoretically, we can say, “Once a patient of diabetes, always a patient of diabetes.”
7. Diabetes is a slow-killer. If not kept in check, it starts deteriorating its victim by causing grave problems to those organs which are essential for a normal existence. They are the brain, heart, retina(eye), kidneys, liver and feet.
8. Diabetes is a blessing in disguise. It inculcates in a person, the virtue and practice of control and discipline.
9. The control or prevention (as the case may be) of diabetes by proper exercise (e.g. walking) and a timely, controlled diet. Consumption of junk food by a diabetic person is fine as long as he/she accompanies it with equivalent (or more) exercise.
10. Measurement of food intake on the basis of kilo-calories and its necessity.
11.  Reasons for nonexistence of diabetes in the old time and its sudden epidemic nature today.

Dr. Mrs. Rama Vijay Gokhale, concluded the event by sharing her views on measurement of food intake and necessary nutrition and how she practices it in real life.

The event brought immense satisfaction to both, hosts and guests. The curious were contented and they expressed their will for the repetition of these lectures in order to spread the awareness of diabetes to the masses. The level of public awareness shall determine the escape of India from the claws of diabetes.
